We went walleye fishing on Lake Erie, August 16, 2015. It was a bit windy about 7 knots from the SW, but we got lucky and got behind a big charter boat heading in the same direction (toward the weather buoy) 8 miles out of Port Colborne. We made it about 3 miles west of the buoy and started fishing about 7:30am.
We got our 1st fish at 9:30am, but then nothing until 1:30pm. Then we got 4 in the next 2 hours. All fish were on down-riggers and worm-harness set at 70-72 ft in 80-88 FOW. Nothing off the in-line planar boards/stick baits running about 40 ft. Great day on the water!
Here's to great times and tight lines!
