On March 30, 2016 SpaceX launched reused Falcon 9 rocket. The first stage of the Falcon 9 was originally launched nearly 1 year ago and was returned to a floating sea platform. SpaceX always designed their rockets to return to Earth and to be reused to make space flight costs to be significantly reduced. NASA's program with the Space Shuttle was also intended to reduce costs by returning and reusing the shuttles. However, each shuttle incurred so much damage during re-entry that costs were never reduced.
We will see if SpaceX can achieve something that NASA could not. The launch yesterday is the first step in demonstrating that SpaceX can deliver! Congratulations SpaceX! Maddalena Environmental Inc. Al Maddalena |
